PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit contact between a biomolecule and a specimen from becoming insufficient.SOLUTION: A detection device includes: a support part for supporting a specimen holding member having a specimen holding part capable of holding a specimen including a target; and a detection part for detecting information on foreign matter of the specimen held in the specimen holding part in a state where a biomolecule capable of being reacted to the specimen holding member supported by the support part with a target and included in biomolecule array is immersed into the specimen held by the specimen holding part, and the biomolecule array is held by the holding part so that the biomolecule is prevented from coming into contact with the specimen holding part.
