PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to accurately detect a malfunctional display unit of a large display apparatus during operation.;SOLUTION: A large display apparatus includes: a controller for outputting operation data as transmission data while generating camera data from a video signal of a camera; and a large display board that is an aggregation of replaceable display panels and performs display on the basis of the transmission data. The large display apparatus determines that a display panel is a malfunctional display panel when, on the display panel, a transmission data luminance value obtained by digitizing transmission data is out of a range obtained by adding a threshold value obtained by considering allowable malfunction for a pixel to a camera data luminance value obtained by digitizing camera data generated from a video signal obtained by the camera's imaging a display screen displayed on the large display board on the basis of the transmission data.
