PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel phosphor which emits yellow light having a strong red component or red light.SOLUTION: A scandium acid salt phosphor comprises a compound represented by a general formula (I): MScOas a matrix and Ce as a light-emitting center ion in the matrix (where, in the formula (I), M is a divalent metal element including at least one selected from a group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba; and a, b, and c are numbers in ranges of 2.7 to 3.3, 3.6 to 4.4, and 8.1 to 9.9, respectively). Preferably, M is Sr, Ba, or a combination of these. The phosphor is preferably represented by, as a composition at a time of charging, M(ScCe)O(where, 0x0.10) and, more preferably, x=0.0025 to 0.0035.
