PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upward continuous casting method capable of improving productivity.;SOLUTION: An upward continuous casting method according to the present invention is an upward continuous casting method for producing a casting M3 formed into a predetermined shape by pulling up molten metal M1 held in a holding furnace 10, includes: a step of introducing a hollow member 11 for pulling up the molten metal M1 into the molten metal M1; and a step of supplying inert gas into the hollow member 11 so that the inert gas flows in the molten metal M1.
