PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for achieving good workability in producing fine particles of an infrared-shielding material which are titanium oxide fine particles doped with Nb and sufficiently exhibit a function as an infrared-shielding material.;SOLUTION: The method includes a hydrolysis step of heating a solution that contains a Ti complex obtained by reacting a Ti-containing compound with a complexing agent (A), a Nb complex obtained by reacting a Nb-containing compound with a complexing agent (B), and water and uses a reductive compound as a solvent, so as to hydrolyze each complex; and a recovery step of recovering fine particles of an infrared-shielding material as a precipitate after the hydrolysis step. The hydrolysis step includes a gelation step of promoting the hydrolysis to gelate the solution and a solation step of promoting the hydrolysis of the gelated solution to solate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
