PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression self-ignition internal combustion engine control device and a compression self-ignition internal combustion engine control method capable of ensuring stable compression self-ignition performance and appropriate fuel economy even if an internal combustion engine is in a transient operation state.;SOLUTION: A compression self-ignition internal combustion engine subjecting an air-fuel mixture produced in a combustion chamber to self-ignition combustion by a piston compression action, creating a closing period in which both an exhaust valve and an intake valve provided in the combustion chamber are closed before or after exhaust top dead center, and causing burned gas to remain in the combustion chamber, comprises: a number-of-revolutions detection unit detecting the number of revolutions of a compression self-ignition internal combustion engine; an intake-pipe-pressure detection unit detecting an intake pipe pressure of an intake pipe of the compression self-ignition internal combustion engine; an intake-pipe-pressure estimation unit estimating the intake pipe pressure at preset timing in a next intake stroke as an intake pipe pressure estimated value on the basis of the intake pipe pressure; and an exhaust-valve-closing-timing setting unit setting timing of closing the exhaust valve on the basis of the number of revolutions and the intake pipe pressure estimated value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
