PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation underground wall structure that can sufficiently bear lateral earth pressure from the peripheral ground, and a method of designing a base isolation underground wall material.;SOLUTION: There is provided a method of designing a base isolation underground wall material in which the material of a wall-like base isolation underground wall 3, which is provided between a peripheral ground 1 and a structure 2 and made of a material including bentonite, is designed. The method includes: setting lateral earth pressure by the peripheral ground 1 which acts on the base isolation underground wall 3 by using a lateral earth pressure coefficient which is the ratio to perpendicular earth pressure; and using a material which has water absorption expansion pressure balancing with the set lateral earth pressure or water absorption expansion pressure larger than the set lateral earth pressure as the material which constitutes the base isolation underground wall 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
