PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonlinear optical material capable of forming a highly oriented state (namely, an oriented state having a high degree of order) of a compound having nonlinear optical activity by polling processing at a lower temperature and more stably holding an oriented state of a nonlinear organic compound after the polling; a nonlinear optical film and optical element using the same; and a method for manufacturing the nonlinear optical film.SOLUTION: Provided are the polymerizable nonlinear optical material including the following components (a)-(c) and having a glass transition temperature of 40°C or more and 120°C or less, the nonlinear optical film and optical element using the polymerizable nonlinear optical material and the method for manufacturing the nonlinear optical film: (a) an organic compound having nonlinear optical activity; (b) one kind or two kinds or more of compounds selected from the following (b-1) and (b-2); (b-1) a compound having two or more polymerizable groups in a molecule and (b-2) a compound having two or more active hydrogen containing groups in a molecule; and (c) a polymer having a glass transition temperature of 120°C or more.
