Provided is a polymerizable nonlinear optical material which has a glass transition temperature of at least 40˚C, but not more than 120˚C, and which includes: an organic compound (a) exhibiting nonlinear optical activity; at least one compound (b) selected from compounds (b-1) having at least two polymerizable groups in molecules thereof, and compounds (b-2) having at least two active hydrogen-containing groups in molecules thereof; and a polymer (c) which has a glass transition temperature of at least 120˚C. Also provided are: a nonlinear optical film and an optical element which use said polymerizable nonlinear optical material; and a production method for said nonlinear optical film.
