PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-temperature superconducting magnet device capable of safely performing demagnetization without burning a high-temperature superconducting wire when a high-temperature superconducting coil performs normal conduction transition, and a high-temperature superconducting magnet demagnetizing method.SOLUTION: The high-temperature superconducting magnet device includes: a high-temperature superconducting coil 30 formed from a wound high-temperature superconducting wire 20; refrigeration means which is brought into thermal contact with the high-temperature superconducting coil 30 and maintains the superconducting coil 30 at a low temperature; a permanent current switch which is connected in parallel with the high-temperature superconducting coil 30 and switches an operation mode of the high-temperature superconducting coil 30 to a permanent current mode; and a release path 13 disposed in at least a part of a gap between the high-temperature superconducting wire 20 which is wound oppositely to each other, for electrically connecting the high-temperature superconducting wire 20.
