PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high temperature superconducting coil device capable of preventing local thermal runaway inside without deteriorating critical current characteristics of a high temperature superconducting wire.;SOLUTION: A high temperature superconducting coil device is a high temperature superconducting coil device in which tape-shaped high temperature superconducting wires 1, 2 are wound. At least at one point of a winding exceeding at least one turn, the high temperature superconducting wires 1, 2 are wound a plurality of times.
