PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of producing a catalyst for exhaust gas purification, the catalyst including platinum carried in an atomic state, being difficult to be coarsened even if thermal treatment is applied, and having high catalyst activity.;SOLUTION: A production method of a catalyst for exhaust gas purification, includes: a dissolving process in which a platinum binuclear complex having an unsaturated coordination site which has a Pt-Pt bond and capable of binding with a carrier is dissolved in organic solvent; a carrying process in which solution obtained in the dissolving process is allowed to contact the carrier to let the carrier adsorb and carry the platinum binuclear complex; and a thermal treatment process in which thermal treatment is applied to the carrier on which the platinum binuclear complex is adsorbed and carried to remove a ligand in the platinum binuclear complex, and the catalyst in which platinum two-atom clusters are carried on the carrier is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
