PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a light transmissive metal oxide sintered compact capable of preventing the blacking of a light transmissive metal oxide sintered compact in HIP treatment and also eliminating re-oxidation treatment.;SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a light transmissive metal oxide sintered compact including: a sintering step of sintering a sintering raw material essentially consisting of a metal oxide so as to be a sintered compact having a relative density of 95% or higher; and a HIP treatment of subjecting the sintered compact 1 to HIP (Hot Isostatic Press) treatment in a heat resistant container 11 made of a high melting point metal having a melting point of 2,400°C or higher or graphite after that. A protective liner container 12 made of a metal oxide stable at the HIP treatment temperature in which the sintered compact 1 is made reside at the inside of the heat resistant container 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
