The present invention relates to a composition comprising spermidine for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence in female patients. The compositions of the present invention are suitable for vaginal application to release spermidine to the external sphincter, urethra and intrapelvic fascia, or intravesical injection. A variation of the composition is a condom lubricant comprising spermidine to locally release spermidine during sexual behavior, and is an alternative or supplement to local self-administration.
