PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clogging inhibitor which has excellent dispersion stability when dispersed in a dispersion medium and can improve polishing performance after application to a coated abrasive and a clogging inhibitor composition for coated abrasives containing the inhibitor.;SOLUTION: A clogging inhibitor for coated abrasives consists of particles of a 8-24C dicarboxylic fatty acid metal salt and has a grain size summary value A, expressed by equation (1), meeting the condition A≤2.2 and an aggregation degree B meeting the condition B≤20, with the aggregation degree B measured by a powder tester in the particles of the fatty acid metal salt after 10-min standing in an environment of 80°C and expressed by equation (2). Equation (1): grain size summary value A=(D90-D10)/D50, with 1.0≤D50≤40.0, where D10 is a 10% integration size (μm) of the particles of the fatty acid metal salt, based on volume; D50 is a median size (μm) of the particles of the fatty acid metal salt, based on volume; and D90 is a 90% integration size (μm) of the particles of the fatty acid metal salt, based on volume.
