PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decomposition catalyst of hydrogen peroxide or ozone which is inexpensive, can be used in a large amount and has low toxicity.;SOLUTION: There is provided a decomposition catalyst of hydrogen peroxide or ozone which contains a layered double hydroxide represented by the formula (1): M²⁺_1-xM³⁺_x(OH)₂][A^n-_x/n.yH₂O] (1) [wherein, M²⁺ is a divalent metal ion containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Mg²⁺, Co²⁺, Ni²⁺ and Cu²⁺; M³⁺ is a trivalent metal ion containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Al³⁺, Fe³⁺, Mn³⁺ and Cr³⁺; provided that a combination containing Mg²⁺ as M²⁺ and Al³⁺ as M³⁺ and a combination containing Ni²⁺ as M²⁺ and Al³⁺ as M³⁺ are excluded; A^n- is an anion containing at least one selected from the group consisting of CO₃^2-, HCO₃^- and OH^-; x is 1/6 to 1/2; and y is 0 to 4.];COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
