PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic hole-opening control method which can perform stable and exact hole opening work to a tap hole without impairing a blast furnace body.;SOLUTION: In the control method of a hole-opening machine which hole-opens the tap hole of a blast furnace, the automatic hole-opening control method increases at least one of the feed pressure, rotational rigidity and strike strength of a hole-opening rod when the feed speed of the hole-opening rod is lower than a prescribed feed speed, and when the feed speed of the hole-opening rod is not lower than the prescribed feed speed, decreases at least one of the feed pressure, rotational rigidity and strike strength of the hole-opening rod, thus performing hole-opening without stopping the feed operation of the hole-opening rod. In the control method, when a detection value of the depth of the tap hole reaches a value not smaller than a preset value, it is preferable that the feed pressure may be compared with the set value for detecting the penetration of the tap hole, and when the feed pressure is not lower than the set value for detecting the penetration, it is preferable that the hole-opening rod may be contracted or made to retreat.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
