Motion information estimation, coding and decoding in multi-dimensional signals by motion region and auxiliary information by auxiliary region

The computer processor hardware receives region information identifying a plurality of elements of the signal representation belonging to one region. The computer processor hardware also receives motion information associated with the area. The motion information can be encoded to indicate which of the plurality of elements in the region is associated with which of the corresponding elements in the reference signal. For each element in the region identified by the region information, the computer processor hardware uses the motion information to derive a corresponding position value in the reference signal. The corresponding position value indicates the position in the reference signal with which each element is associated.
