PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a magnesium powder metallurgy sintered body which enhances the binding power between magnesium powder particles in the magnesium powder metallurgy material and densifies the structure of the material while keeping the structure of the material, the sintered body and a material.SOLUTION: A method of producing a magnesium powder metallurgy sintered body includes a mixing step S1 of mixing magnesium powder with an addition element powder to prepare a magnesium powder metallurgy material, a powder charging step S2 of charging the material into a forming die, a sintering step S3 of sintering the material at a temperature lower than the melting point of magnesium, while compressing the material, to cause a liquid phase of the addition element, the liquid phase of the addition element plus a liquid phase of the eutectic molten liquid of magnesium and the addition element, mixed together, or the liquid phase of the eutectic molten liquid alone to intervene between magnesium, a cooling step S4 of cooling to convert the liquid phase(s) into the solid phase(s), and a take-out step S5 of taking out the sintered body from the forming die.
