PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel excellent in thermal fatigue characteristics and high temperature fatigue characteristics without using Mo, W and Cu.;SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel includes, by mass, C: at most 0.015%, Si: at most 1.0%, Mn: at most 0.5%, Al: more than 0.30% and at most 1.0%, P: at most 0.040%, S: at most 0.010%, Cr: 12-23%, Ni: at most 0.5%, N: 0.015-0.040%, Nb: 10(C+N)-0.60%, V: 0.15-0.60%, Ti: at most 0.01%, Zr: at most 0.01%, Ta: at most 0.01%, Mo: at most 0.1%, W: at most 0.1%, and a remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities, satisfies 0.003≤V×N≤0.015, and Si≥Al, and is excellent in thermal fatigue characteristics and high temperature fatigue characteristics.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
