PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water immersion expansion test method and device of an expansive material, capable of quantitatively recognizing a suppression effect of expansibility by a confining pressure of the expansive material and contributing to enlargement of an application range of the expansive material.;SOLUTION: A preset confining pressure is loaded on a test piece 10 inside a mold 12 installed inside a water tank 14 for cure, and a water immersion expansion amount of the test piece 10 is measured under the confining pressure load. From a ratio of the measured water immersion expansion amount and a height dimension of the test piece 10 before the confining pressure load, a water immersion expansion ratio of the test piece 10 is calculated. Then, measurement of the water immersion expansion amount and calculation of the water immersion expansion ratio are repeatedly performed, the water immersion expansion ratio at the point of time at which the water immersion expansion of the test piece 10 is converged is obtained as a convergence value of the test piece 10, an earth covering pressure of a general banking material to be put on the expansive material according to a banking height scheduled beforehand and the water immersion expansion ratio of the expansive material corresponding to the earth covering pressure are obtained from the convergence value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
