PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentration method of a water-soluble organic substance and a concentration apparatus of the water-soluble organic substance, for recovering the water-soluble organic substance of the high concentration, attaining energy-saving, and attaining cost reduction in the apparatus by reducing the membrane area.SOLUTION: The prevent invention can provide a technology of leading to the cost reduction in the apparatus, by reducing the membrane area of a vapor permeation separation membrane 5 in the whole separation membrane devices 51 and 52, in addition to providing a component concentrated in the high concentration based on the water-soluble organic substance, since the vapor permeation separation membrane 5 arranged on the just before side of at least the final outlet on the impermeable side in the separation membrane device 52, is lower in the permeability ratio than the other vapor permeation separation membrane 5, while maintaining an energy-saving characteristic, by using a hybrid process of combining distillation by a distillation tower 2 and membrane separation by the separation membrane devices 51 and 52 having a plurality of vapor permeation separation membranes 5.
