PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video editing device and a photographing device that enable video to be edited so that a viewer does not feel a sense of incongruity.SOLUTION: When a user designates an editing start position and an editing end position on an editing screen respectively, sound levels at the editing start position and the editing end position are detected respectively. Thereafter, the sound level at the editing start position is compared with the sound level at the editing end position, and when a difference between the sound level at the editing start position and the sound level at the editing end position exceeds a predetermined range as a result of the comparison, the user is notified that connection of sound becomes worse due to editing.
