PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fault tolerance for primary matching server instance of a financial exchange.;SOLUTION: Fault-tolerant logic monitors inputs to and outputs from a primary matching server, and gate those inputs to a backup matching server once a certain given input is processed. Then outputs from the backup matching server are compared with the outputs from the primary matching server so as to support error-free operation. Further, the present invention relates to a fault-tolerant fail-over mechanism which allows the backup matching server to take over the operation of the primary matching server in a fault state, and the primary matching server and backup matching server are loosely connected to each other and need not be aware that they are operating in fault-tolerant environment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
