PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar sensor system and method for a vehicle.;SOLUTION: The radar system includes a processing apparatus (22) and a plurality of transceivers having (one or more) antennas (24). The antennas of the transceivers are attached at various positions on the outer periphery of a vehicle. The transceivers include transmit and receive electronic circuits communicating with corresponding antennas. The transmit electronic circuit outputs a radar signal through the antenna. The transmit electronic circuit includes a voltage control oscillator (VCO), a dielectric resonator type oscillator (DRO), a phase lock loop (PLL) component, and a direct digital synthesizer (DDS). The receive electronic circuit receives all radar reflection corresponding to the output radar signal from the antenna and sends a signal associated with all the radar reflection. The processing apparatus generates an output signal based on the signals received from the plurality of transceivers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
