PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float bath for producing float glass where the structure to cool a bottom casing surrounding bricks to store a molten metal in the float bath for producing the float glass is improved, and to provide a method for cooling the float bath.;SOLUTION: The float bath for producing the float glass, where the molten metal M is stored so that the float glass G goes on the molten metal M in a floating state, has a brick assembly 110 constituted by a plurality of bricks B, the bottom casing 120 which partitions the outside of the brick assembly 110 and a blower 130 located separately from the bottom casing 120 so that cooling air is supplied toward the bottom casing 120. The blower 130 has a plurality of nozzles 132 having a diameter of about 30 mm respectively and being arranged at a pitch of about 250-300 mm to cool the bottom casing 120 to a predetermined temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
