PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fermentation production of PDC (2-pyrrone-4,6-dicarboxylic acid) from C6C3 compounds of sinapoic acid, ferulic acid and p-coumaric acid on an industrial scale.SOLUTION: The method includes producing 2-pyrrone-4,6-dicarboxylic acid by a bacterium of the genus Pseudomonas transformed by a recombinant vector containing feruloyl-CoA synthetase (FerA) derived from Sphingobium paucimobilis SYK-6 strain and feruloyl CoA hydratase/lyase (FerB) gene.
