PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable machine-searching device, portable machine-searching method, and portable machine-searching program, making it possible to achieve power saving without decreasing the frequency of searching a portable machine.SOLUTION: A searching device 1 includes: an LF (Low Frequency) transmission IC 6 that transmits search information for use in searching a portable machine 3 carried by a user; an RF (Radio Frequency) receiving IC 7 that receives authentication information returned from the portable machine 3 as a response to the search information; and a control unit 5 that controls the LF transmission IC 6 and RF receiving IC 7. The RF receiving IC 7 includes an authentication block 10 that authenticates the portable machine 3 on the basis of the authentication information. When the authentication block 10 authenticates the portable machine 3, the control unit 5 is notified of a result of the authentication. After the control unit 5 executes control to transmit the search information in a normal operating state, the control unit 5 makes a transition to a low power consumption state in which power consumption is lower than in the normal operating state. When the control unit is notified of the result of authentication by the RF receiving IC 7 in the low power consumption state, the control unit restores the operation state to the normal operating state.
