PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate a two-dimensional image from a four-dimensional image.SOLUTION: Image data are extracted from a three-dimensional first frame image constituting a four-dimensional image showing a heart. An extraction map showing a compressed voxel 61 is generated, the voxel 61 extracted in accordance with the generated extraction map is extended, and the rendering of the extended voxel 61 is performed. Then two-dimensional image of the first frame is generated. As for a third three-dimensional image constituting the fourth-dimensional image, a voxel at the same position as that of the voxel 61 extracted from the first frame image is extracted. When the heart displayed as a two-dimensional image is expanded, a voxel 82 in the neighborhood of the voxel 61 is read. By referring to the position of the voxel 61 extracted from the first frame image, the voxels 61 and 82 are extracted from a third frame image so that it is possible to shorten a time to determine the voxel to be extracted, and to efficiently generate a two-dimensional image.
