PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductor comprising aluminosilicate-based glass capable of showing excellent proton conductivity.SOLUTION: A proton conductor S comprising aluminosilicate-based glass having sites capable of holding protons is formed by using zeolite Z including protons as a raw material, and by sintering powder of the zeolite including protons by mechanical pressurization and heating, wherein micropores h of the zeolite Z are crushed by sintering, and the structure is densified by crushing. By changing the zeolite Z into a glass state by sintering, the state having the sites capable of holding protons can be kept, and conduction by only proton becomes possible by using the sites, and thereby excellent proton conductivity can be shown.
