PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method which can surely remove foreign matter such as wood chips remaining on a spreader therefrom and has no risk of degenerating the bonding performance of an adhesive applied to a veneer.;SOLUTION: In a spreader comprising an application roll 1 and a doctor roll 2 above a delivery roll 4 and applies a suitable amount of an adhesive 13 stored between both rolls 1 and 2 onto the upper surface of a veneer 8, the doctor roll 2 is forward and backward rotatable, a cleaning member 9 having a tip 9a equivalent in width to the doctor roll 2 is provided in a manner that it is in a position not interfering with the passage of a veneer 8 and the tip 9a occasionally contacts or separates from the suitable area of the periphery of the doctor roll 2, and only when necessary, the doctor roll 2 is rotated backward to remove foreign matter 14 together with an adhesive 13 remaining at the storage part, whereas the tip 9a of the cleaning member is abutted against the periphery of the doctor roll 2 to scrape and remove the adhesive 13 and the foreign matter 14 discharged from the storage part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
