Procedures have been developed in this manual to address the transport of pest and invasive species through equipment movement. This manual provides uniform guidelines for inspecting and cleaning vehicles and equipment to help prevent the spread of pest and invasive species during Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) activities. The general types of equipment described in this manual are: Rubber-tired land vehicles; Tracked land vehicles; Personal use equipment; Construction and facility equipment, and Watercraft. Before conducting any equipment inspection or cleaning action, the reader is urged to first review all introductory sections located at the beginning of this manual. In particular, the 'Overview of Inspection Procedures' and the 'Overview of Cleaning Procedures' sections provide valuable information. In addition, the 'Inspection-Cleaning Relationship' flowchart is an extremely helpful resource that will detail the complex tasks of equipment inspection and cleaning. These two overview sections when taken together, will direct the reader elsewhere in the manual for in-depth discussion: Appendix A for Inspection Standards and Appendix B for Cleaning and Decontamination Procedures.
