PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management server in which even for the same document, an appropriate version of the document is printed out according to a user who copies it.SOLUTION: A user scans a paper medium in an image forming device, and transmits, to a document management server, a transmitted user account, a document ID written in a bar code imparted to a paper medium, and a version. The document management server acquires, out of a document database, a list of versions of the document. In this occasion, the latest version among printable versions is different depending on a user because there are versions usable and versions unusable, by the user, depending on an authority corresponding to a user account. The document management server notifies the image forming device of whether or not the document scanned by the user is of the latest version. In the image forming device, the user can acquire document data of the latest version (according to the authority of the user) and specify it for printing.
