the process of determining a cause of voltage loss downstream of a circuit breaker, circuit breaker auxiliary equipment, electrical system, including a circuit breaker and that auxiliary device. In this process with the aid of an auxiliary device, downstream breaker voltage loss corresponds to the breaker opening or voltage drop at the breaker input below a first reference voltage value, and the breaker is in an open position to interrupt connecting current comprising at least one electrical conductor. The auxiliary apparatus comprises current pickup for measuring current in the respective conductor and first detection means for detecting voltage loss downstream of the circuit breaker. The process comprises: measuring (102), for each current pickup, the current flowing in each conductor, detecting (117), via the first means of detection, the voltage loss downstream of the electrical circuit breaker and determining (120, 122, 126, 128, 130) by the auxiliary apparatus, as a function of the intensity measured by or by each current pickup, of a cause of the voltage loss, preferably chosen from the group consisting of: electrical overload, short circuit and voltage drop .
