Procedure for determining a cause of voltage loss downstream of a circuit breaker (22) with the help of an auxiliary apparatus (24), the loss of voltage downstream corresponding to an opening of the circuit breaker (22) or a voltage drop of circuit breaker input (22) below a first reference voltage value, the circuit breaker (22) being in an open position, suitable for interrupting the circulation of an electric current (I) in an electrical junction (16) that includes the less an electrical conductor (12, 14), the auxiliary apparatus comprising at least one current sensor (44) suitable for measuring the intensity (I) of the current flowing in a respective electrical conductor (12, 14) and a first means (59) of suitable detection to detect the loss of voltage downstream of the circuit breaker, the procedure comprising the following steps: - a) the measurement (102), by the or each current sensor (44), of the intensity (I) of the current q that the detection (117), by means of the first detection means (59), of the loss of voltage downstream of the electrical circuit breaker (22) circulates in the or each electrical conductor (12, 14), the procedure characterized in that it also includes the following stage: - c) the determination (120, 122, 126, 128, 130), by the auxiliary device (24) and depending on the intensity measured by the or each sensor (44) of current, of a cause of loss of voltage downstream of the detected circuit breaker, said cause being preferably chosen from the group consisting of: an electrical overload, a short circuit and a voltage drop.
