"lignocellulosic hydrolysis process with metal salts / dilute acids". a modified method for the hydrolysis of cellulose and hemicellulose in lignocellulosic material by dilute acid under conditions to obtain a higher overall fermentable sugar production than would be obtained using dilute acid alone, comprising: impregnating a matter lignocellulosic feedstock with a mixture of a certain amount of aqueous solution of a dilute acid catalyst and a sufficient metal salt catalyst to provide a higher overall fermentable sugar production than would be possible when performing acid hydrolysis diluted in isolation; loading the lignocellulose impregnated food raw material into a reactor and heating for a period of time sufficient to hydrolyze substantially all of the hemicellulose and more than 45% of the cellulose to water soluble sugars; and recovery of water soluble sugars.
