The method includes the following steps: identifying a set of junction priority rules, evaluating junction priority priorities based on the stored junction priority set and junction layout information, and determining the general order of the individual junction directions for mobile units, determining junction directions to be given by the current mobile unit priority when crossing the intersection, evaluated on the basis of the general order of passage and information on the position and movement of the current mobile unit and informing the driver of the current mobile unit of the order of crossing the intersection. The autonomous system includes: a memory unit for storing junction arrangement information with a set of junction priority rules and for storing progress information, warnings and system intervention information on the current mobile unit, a computing unit evaluating the general junction order for all possible directions junction and counting which or which of the mobile units has or has priority to drive at the junction, based on the stored information and location and movement information of the mobile units and a communication unit allowing the information to be sent to the owner of the mobile unit or other designated person about crisis situations, etc.
