The present invention relates to a method for quantifying an impurity present in a peptide product after synthesis, where the impurity cannot be separated from other impurities or the main product. The method, in particular, includes the use of detection using high resolution mass spectrometry (MS) with or without high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The method can be used to study the quality of peptides and proteins, in particular pharmaceutical peptides and proteins.
