The present invention is in relation to the field of spectroscopy, in particular Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy (CRDS). CRDS has been explored for its utility as a tool for measuring permeability of materials in conjugation with a test chamber. The measurement of low values of permeability of materials is of great significance in the electronic industry, pharmaceutical industry and food industry.
