pThe present invention relates to the use of strains of Botrytis cinérea and the spores, hyphae, mycelia, sclerotia, intraand/ or extracellular organic molecules (such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, lipids and secondary metabolites) thereof for the biosynthesis of gold particles (AuNPs). Generally speaking, the present invention relates to the use of strains of B. cinérea and/or molecules generated by said organism for biological synthesis of AuNPs, and the scope of application is thus the synthesis of nanomaterials, specifically AuNPs using the phytopathogenic fungus B. cinérea and/or the purified intra- or extracellular proteins thereof individually or in combination with any other intra- and/or extracellular molecule produced by said organism as a biological synthesis system.
