摘要

The present invention refers to a process for superficial hardening by boron diffusion, applied to steel nozzles, for increasing the resistance to the erosive wear caused by sandblast at pressure. The novel characteristic of the invention is that a process designed for improving exposed surfaces is applied in bores or inner portions of nozzles which are subjected to erosive wear by sandblast at pressure. The process does not require an inert atmosphere, which would increase costs, as silicon carbide powder is used. Finally, the nozzles subjected to the inventive process are susceptible to be once again treated after the useful life of the iron boride layer has expired, this reducing even more the operation costs thereof.
