The present invention is related to the industrial sector for the manufacture of food; more particularly the invention is related to a novel composition of better-sweet snack of xoconostle sweetened with a non-caloric artificial sweetener harmless to consumers. One purpose of the invention is to obtain a bitter-sweet snack from the peel of xoconostle fruit without modifying the nutraceutical properties thereof, with a composition that reduces the consumption of vegetable fat and sugar; in such a manner that it helps to control diseases resulting from the consumption of these ingredients; the flavor of the main product is improved with neotame, avoiding the loss of chemical properties thereof which are beneficial to human health, having a long useful life. The preparation method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: 1) pre-treating the xoconostle fruit; 2) removing the pulp and seeds; 3) slicing the mesocarp; 4) sweetening the slices; 5) dehydrating the product.
