The invention refers to a system for mainly identifying PET and PVC plastics, which uses lamps of lights of different wavelengths for generating black light, day light, ultraviolet light, fluorescent white light and warm light amongst others. This system has a chamber (tunnel) for the inlet and outlet of material, which is equipped with video cameras connected to a display or monitor. The system includes perforations with an insertion of flexible and large gloves used for preventing the skin of the operator from getting into contact with the light and may manually remove the PVC plastics mixed in the PET. This plastic separation is important as the PVC is a PET polluter. The system developed for identifying plastics may be used in a batch, continuous or semi continuous process.
