METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFICACY OF CANDESARTAN IN TREATING ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE WITH ANGINA PECTORIS

The method for assessing the efficacy of Candesartan in treating the ischemic heart disease with angina pectoris provides for the comparison of the state of patient prior to and after the treatment. Prior to the treatment with Candesartan, 5 mL of the blood is sampled from the cubital vein of the patient at rest. The viscosity of the blood is measured in rotational viscosimeter at the shearing forces within 0.020-8.8 dyn/cm2. The analogous procedures are performed after the treatment with Candesartan. If the viscosity at 0.3 dyn/cm2 decreases by more than 6.5 % as compared with that prior to the treatment, the hemorheological result and the antianginal effect are considered as the positive ones.
