Procedure for hygienization of sludge from WWTPs in which the sludge from the wastewater treatment plant, is dosed with O {sub, 3} and calcium oxide react resulting free hydroxyl radical OH- · and singlet oxygen or high power oxidant, performing this mixture prior to separation of the solid and liquid phase of the sludge.
