A fusion polypeptide comprising an immunogenic portion of at least four Leishmania antigens, in which the Leishmania antigens are KMP11, SMT, A2 and CPB, wherein the fusion polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence exhibited in any one of the SEQ ID NO: 23, 33 or 37, or a sequence that has at least 97% identity with it; and in which the fusion polypeptide is capable of inducing a protective immune response to prevent leishmaniosis or reduce the severity of leishmaniosis in a mammal.
