A drug delivery composition that increases the absorption of oily or hydrophobic crystalline drug active ingredients that are normally hardly soluble, comprising; an emulsifier, said emulsifier being a phospholipid, a lecithin, a lysolecitin or combinations thereof; a sterol of plant origin (stanol) or ester derived from sterol (stanol); an effective amount of drug active ingredient of a hydrophobic drug, in which the weight ratio of the emulsifier with respect to the combination of plant sterol and drug is 0.1 to 3.0; and characterized in that the composition further comprises an antacid.
