Prop for construction work, of the type comprising a device (5) rapid decoupling between the lower section (1) of support on the ground and the upper section (2) of load bearing, said device (5) being constituted by a carrier part recesses staggered as castellated on their upper edge and another carrier (10) stops (14) able to rest on the bottom of said stepped grooves or the upper steps thereof, characterized in that the recesses staggered are made in the upper edge of the nut height adjuster strut and the stops (14) able to rest on the bottom of the grooves or in the upper steps thereof are carried on a rotating part (10) which receives the load the upper section of the strut and which also receives the action of an internal spring (11) in its rest position causes the automatic arrangement of said rotating part with stops resting on the stagger s top of said grooves.
