METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR INTRODUCING DEVICES WITH SIMPLE USER INTERFACES INTO A SECURE NETWORK COMMUNITY

A method for introducing devices (110, 120, 130) with simple user interfaces(115, 125, 135) into a network community (100). A user (140) pushes a button(116) on a first device (110) that listens for messages from central pointsfor two seconds and, if no such message is received, becomes a central pointand starts sending broadcast ID messages (308). The user the pushes a buttonon a second device (120) to be insert, which after interaction with thecentral point enters a selected state (403). Noticing this on the userinterface of the second device, the user pushes the button on the first deviceagain, and after further communication between the devices, they enter anassociated state (404), which can be verified on the user interface of thefirst device. Also provided are a central point, an apparatus and a method forconfiguring an apparatus in the network.
