METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING HERBIVORE FOWL POPULATIONS

A method and apparatus is provided for controlling the location in whichherbivore fowl, and inparticular herbivore waterfowl such as Canada geese, populations congregate byaltering thebehaviour of the fowl through the combination of providing a strongdisincentive to populateareas where the presence of the fowl is not desired and a strong incentive topopulate a proximatearea where the presence of fowl can be tolerated. For herbivore waterfowl, andin particularCanada geese, the adjacent area also provides the waterfowl with a means ofegress to water asan escape from predators and other perceived threats. The method uses adeterrent in the form ofadulterated feed to dissuade the herbivore fowl from congregating in areas inwhich theirpresence is not desired and the use of an attractant in the form of non-adulterated feed toencourage the herbivore fowl to congregate in a proximate area in which theirpresence can betolerated.
